Privacy Policy

What we collect

ProSource collects the minimum data needed to operate the service:

• Account information — email address, name, and profile photo when you sign in via Google or magic link.
• User-generated content — reviews, ratings, photos, and owner responses you submit.
• Business claim data — when you claim a business, we store your claim status and verification method.
• Favorites — businesses you save to your account.
• Contact form submissions — name, email, and message when you use the contact form.
• Analytics — we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. This collects anonymized usage data such as pages viewed, device type, and approximate location. No personally identifiable information is shared with Google.

Business data

Business listings on ProSource are compiled from publicly available sources including Google Maps and Yelp. We display business names, addresses, phone numbers, ratings, review counts, and photos that are already public. Business owners can request corrections or removal of their listing.

How we use your data

• To authenticate your account and maintain your session.
• To display your reviews, favorites, and claimed businesses.
• To send verification emails or SMS codes when you claim a business.
• To send magic link sign-in emails when you request them.
• To respond to contact form inquiries.
• To improve the service based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.

Cookies and sessions

We use a single httpOnly cookie (ps_auth) to maintain your login session. This cookie is strictly functional and is not used for tracking or advertising. It expires after 7 days.

Third-party services

We use third-party service providers to operate the platform. These include providers for:

• Hosting, content delivery, and security
• Anonymized site usage analytics
• Authentication (Google sign-in is optional — we receive your email, name, and profile photo)
• Transactional email delivery (sign-in links, verification emails)
• SMS and voice verification for business claims
• Payment processing for sponsored listings (we do not store credit card information)
• Bot protection on forms

These providers only receive the data necessary to perform their function and are bound by their own privacy policies.

Data storage and security

All data is encrypted in transit via TLS. Account data is stored in edge databases. Images are stored in object storage. Sessions use signed tokens stored in httpOnly cookies.

Your rights

• Access — view your data on the account page.
• Deletion — deactivate your account from the account settings page. This permanently deletes all your data including reviews, favorites, and business claims.
• Business removal — business owners can request their listing be removed via the "Request Removal" link on their business page.
• Correction — claimed business owners can edit their listing information directly.

Children

ProSource is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted with a revised "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
